Sorry, I disagree. We need Lessig to help change the way sausage is made in Congress. We need people to lead by example, to show that it can be done. We need him in the belly of the beast. Speier cannot and will not do that, though she is appealing for other reasons. We need Lessig there.

We need Lessig there, but can he keep up his principles in the face of so many influences? Money isn't the only thing influencing Congress. It's a jungle out there. I know from his own mouth that he is a timid person. The word "shill" upset him. And while I believe he is timid only in mind and not action, putting up with the bullshit that it takes to win a piece of the power pie can damage someone.

I can only hope he weighs these factors in his decision. I trust that if he decides to run, he'll run because he believes he can stand up to the ridicule and doubts that will be tossed at him and come out on top.

As a resident of California's 12th district, I want to know that whoever runs for Congressman Lantos's seat is not going to view it as just a platform from which to mount their movement. I want a representative that's going to go to Washington on behalf of the citizens who cast their ballots for him (or her).

I don't get the sense that Lessig has any particular attachment to CA 12th and its issues, nor does he want to. For that reason, I'm leaning towards Speier right now.

My spouse and I stumbled over here by a different website and thought I may as well check things out. I like what I see so now i'm following you. Look forward to looking into your web page again.
